It’s hard to believe that it’s the time of year again for 9 holeTurkey Singles! These competitions are up and running again so play as often as you like to be in with a chance of winning your Christmas dinner….. Full details are available in the Ladies and Gents locker rooms. There will be a new members/members information evening on Friday 29th October. This includes a 9 hole fun competition in the afternoon, followed by a get together with light refreshments in the Clubhouse. Our own personnel will be on hand to answer your queries on handicaps, clubnet app, etc on the night. This is open to all members and we would encourage in particular all new members from 2019-2021 to come along and meet other members, and hopefully, we will be able to answer any questions you may have. Priority on the time sheet will be for new members and we look forward to seeing you all there. Please use the clubnet app or contact the Pro-Shop or office to book your time on the timesheet. Please be advised there will be an EGM on Sunday 24th October in the Clubhouse to consider the adoption of a revised Club Constitution. A formal notification will follow, but details are available on the website –go to Clubhouse, click on Club Officers to download a copy of the proposed Constitution. The Bar and Catering committee are busy behind the scenes planning for after the further easing of restrictions later this month. Watch this space for upcoming events. Meanwhile the greens are returning to normal after the sanding programme and the fairways won’t be far behind. Just in time for the start of the Winter League, kindly sponsored by E.B.S. Colman Doyle Finance Ltd. First round of the Winter League is on Sunday 17th October, and all names are on the timesheet. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the hollow coring and sanding. Finally congratulations to our Captain’s Vincent and Ann, and Men’s President Jim who recently qualified for the final of the Allianz/Irish Officers Challenge. They played the qualifying round in Carlow, and now go to the K Club for the All Ireland Final, due to be played on Thursday 21st October. Best of luck to them as they represent our Club in this prestigious event.
