The Bungalow Project / Simulator Room
The Bungalow project is complete and the golf simulator is now available to our membership. Booking can be made firstly through the Pro-Shop or then through the office.
For members who have prepaid for vouchers, they are available for collection in the office.
The facility requires to be opened, set up and locked up, therefore available times will be condensed to ensure someone is available to carry out these functions as well as assist you with a demonstration. Our club professionals have priority over the facility up to 3:00 p.m. after which priority reverts to the membership but may be used prior to 3:00 p.m. at short notice by members subject to availability.
● Available to members only and their guests
● Cost is €30 per hour (introductory offer, reduced by 25% from €40) and the rate is regardless of the number of individuals.
● Must be pre-booked at least 24 hours in advance to ensure availability of staff
● New balls must be used, and clubs must be clean to maintain our screen in good condition. Balls with coloured markings or scuff marks must not be used as they will damage or mark the screen. Equally dirty clubs will transfer the mud to the balls and damage the screen. (The screen cost €2,500) We appreciate that the course is muddy this time of year, but there are full bathroom facilities on site and you can wet your towel to clean your clubs.
● Please be aware that the facility is monitored by 6 CCTV cameras with activity recorded
● Times available are between the hours of 3:00 pm to closing at 9:00 pm daily with the exception of Tuesday and Saturday evenings. Times will be reviewed on an ongoing basis
● The facility is currently being used by our Pro’s and is an excellent facility for golf lessons which you can book in the usual way, in the Pro-Shop.

As we approach nearly 5 years at Courtown Golf Club, we in the pro-shop are really excited to be able to offer the members access to our new Trackman golf studio. The new studio will allow us to offer coaching and custom fitting all year round and should give all members the perfect opportunity to reach their full potential, either through golf lessons or that new set of irons or driver you have been promising yourself. The opening of the Trackman studio has allowed us to offer a vast array of equipment for demo and club fittings, from leading brands such as TaylorMade, Ping, Titleist, Mizuno, Cleveland, and Wilson.
With Spring/Summer just around the corner, we are starting to take delivery of the new ranges of shoes and clothing. Keep any eye out in the shop for the new arrivals and also upcoming specials on 2022 stock.

The Bungalow Project
Following from our email last July we wish to update you on progress.
First of all, a quick reminder about the project. The Club, together with our resident professionals, are working together to provide a state-of-the-art golf simulation facility. You will be able to book golf lessons over the winter months and avail of an up-to-date club fitting service. In addition, you and your friends will be able to rent the facility and play the iconic courses of the world like St. Andrews, Muirfield Village or nearer to home, Adare Manor, throughout the winter and in to the early evenings. Paul & James have already purchased a Trackman 4 which is the launch monitor of choice for the top players. It is incredibly accurate and easy to use. It tracks the full trajectory of any shot from putts to the longest drives, pinpointing the landing position with accuracy. Trackman tells us that the monitor is “seriously performance enhancing. You won’t just improve. You’ll improve faster than you thought possible”
For the clubs’ part, we are providing the premises for the facility. The greenkeepers bungalow is been converted to an open plan facility measure approximately 26’x24’ and in excess of 11’ in height. At this stage, all the internal walls have been knocked, the ceiling has been raised, the roof has been re-slated and 1st fixings for the electrics are in place. The next two weeks will see the walls insulated and re-plastered and final fit will take place then. All this work has been carried out by volunteers and therefore, is unbelievable value for money. Thank you to all the volunteers, fantastic work!
On the subject of money, our plan is that the professionals will provide the technology at an approximate cost of 25K. The club will provide the finance for the premises also at a rough cost of 25K by preselling hours in the facility. In our July email we asked you to indicate your interest in supporting this exciting project by emailing [email protected] and we would be in touch with you. That exercise yielded a brilliant €17,000 and thank you all for contacting us and for your contributions and your encouragement. I know many more of you have indicated your support and we would now like to finalise the finances for this project. Pre-purchasing hours represents great value as similar facilities cost €40 per hour and more. Our average price for this introductory promotion is €20 per hour. We are selling time in 3 tranches, 55 hours for €1,000, 25 hours for €500 and 10 hours for €250 with the €1,000 allocation representing the best value. Hourly vouchers will be issued, they will be fully transferrable and must be used within two years of the facility opening. Why not get together with your fourball and purchase an allocation. It is anticipated that the facility will be open in the evenings over the winter months and facilitated by the bar so a full night’s entertainment is envisaged. Also, at The Bungalow, you can go solo and enjoy your own virtual driving range, work on your short game and practice your drives from the comfort of this heated facility.
This project restores The Bungalow to a club asset and is a fantastic enhancement to Courtown Golf Club membership.
