Woodbrook Wins Finn Trophy 2010
Woodbrook scored a sweet victory in the 44th Finn Trophy final last Thursday 26th August 2010. The ladies of Dunmore East put up a brave fight in their first Finn final, but alas this year, it was not to be. Both teams received fantastic support from their respective clubs on the day and celebrations with Peggy Finn at the helm went on well into the evening. Congratulations to all involved for another successful year!
Junior Captain's Prize 2010
60 Junior golfers competed in Darragh Hobbs Junior Captains Prize. Scoring was great and in a breakdown of scores Darragh Brennan came out on top in the boys section with a score of 41 pts. Becky Mountaine kept up her good form to win the girls section with 35 pts. All competitors got a prize on a very enjoyable day.
President's Prize 2010
280 golfers took to the course over 2 days in a bid to win this years President Malachy Travers prize. Course & weather conditions alike could not be faulted. Frank Fahy scored a sweet victory with 56 pts narrowly beating Pat Byrne by one point to scoop the exquisite Sam Maguire like Newbridge punch bowl.
The President's son Malachy Jr. took third with a score of 55 pts and Brendan Sheehan won Gross with 44 pts.
Celebrations went on late into the night!
