Courtown Golf Club is a picturesque and challenging golf course located 5 km from the North Wexford town of Gorey only an hour from South Dublin. Founded in 1936 the golf course was upgraded to 18 holes in 1974. It was built on a piece of land that was once part of the old Courtown estate.  With it's panoramic views of the South Irish Sea and the beautiful North Wexford coast it provides a delightful distraction to many a bad round.

Courtown is a mature parkland course, par 71 and almost 6000 metres in length. Every fairway is lined to reward the accurate golfer and punish the wayward.

The Pro Shop located near the 1st tee box stocks a large variety of the top names in golf and is run by the resident I.G.P.A. professional Mr. John Coone.

In addition Courtown is serviced by a comfortable and inviting clubhouse that is home to our excellent caterer's Earl's Rest (Eric Poole & Matt Murphy) and Bar facilities. Menu's catering for all tastes and pockets.

We hope that you will enjoy your trip to Courtown!

The Lady President, Anne Duggan, presented her prize to the Ladies on Saturday 30th August and all the competitors enjoyed a dry breezy day for the golf. The magnificent prize was won by Jennifer Cullen (20) with 69 pts. Gemma Coughlin (21) with 68 net was second. Gross was won by Sarah Donnellan (10) with 85 net. The men's 9 hole was won by Brian Long (21) 18 pts - on the back 6.  A great day and night was had by all!

Despite adverse weather conditions, thunder and lightning and a course closure on Friday afternoon, over 250 gentlemen turned out over two days to compete in this year's President's Prize.  The normally 27 hole competition was reduced to a straight 18 holes.  Frank Cullen playing off 13 won out with 69 pts pipping Greg Kelly (6) with a better score on the back 9. The 11 prize winners were all within 3 strokes of one another.  Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all who played.
