There will also be tickets on sale for a Raffle with the fantastic first prize of an Electric Trolley and Waterproof Golf Bag, second prize a wedge, third prize a Courtown top. The Raffle will run until the end of the golf Season with all funds going to the Teams Fund. Tickets may be purchased in the Bar, Pro Shop or the office. There can only be one winner of this fabulous prize so you never know “It could be you”! As you may have noticed the new Trolley Shed is now freshly plastered and the roof is expected to arrive any day. We will keep you informed of the opening date. Our sincere thanks to the many volunteers who have worked tirelessly on this project. The new feature at the Ladies 6th tee has received numerous compliments and is now ready for planting by some of our green fingered members. With the longer evenings and fine weather it’s great to see the Academy in full use. When practising please be aware of golfers on the 12th and 13th holes. Any stray range balls on the 12th or 13th may be hit back to the practice area without penalty as detailed in our last newsletter. As usual please don’t forget to replace your divots, rake the bunkers and repair pitch marks on the greens. Some of the fairway distance markers are damaged or broken and it has been decided to remove them. The distance fairway stakes will still be in place. Unfortunately, the Welcome Evening planned for new and not so new members had to be cancelled, so any members that may have a query about the Clubnet App please contact the office for help. As the App is a constant source of club updates and information we would ask that you keep up to date and check it. Golf Rule 15.3 a Ball or ball-marker helping or interfering with play - Ball helping play If you reasonably believe that a ball on the putting green might help anyone’s play (such as by serving as a possible backstop near the hole), you may mark and lift the ball if it is your own, or if the ball belongs to another player, require the other player to mark and lift the ball. In stroke play only: ● A player who is required to lift a ball may play first instead, and ● If you and another player agree to leave a ball in place to help one of you, and that player then makes a stroke with the helping ball left in place, each player who made the agreement gets the general penalty (two penalty strokes).
