Courtown Golf Club is a picturesque and challenging golf course located 5 km from the North Wexford town of Gorey. Founded in 1936 the golf course was upgraded to 18 holes in 1974. It was built on a piece of land that was once part of the old Courtown estate. Indeed evidence of the estate can still be seen, not least in the names of some of the holes:

• The Kennels
• Earl's Rest
• Lady's Field
• Carriage Drive

being notable examples.

The course itself has recently undergone some major design changes that have further enhanced the high standard on which Courtown prides itself. Furthermore Courtown Golf Club provides ancilliary golfing services such as the availabiltiy of golf trolleys and buggies, a practice area, practice putting greens, and ladies and mens locker rooms.

The Pro-shop located near the 1st tee box stocks a large variety of the top names in golf and is run by the resident I.G.P.A. professional.

In addition Courtown is serviced by an excellent clubhouse that houses the abovementioned locker rooms as well as the exceptional restaurant and bar facilities. From this luxurious comfort can be enjoyed a panoramic view of the course and the Irish Sea beyond.
